About Me

I am a Research Scientist in the Hydrological Sciences Lab at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

I study the Earth’s water resources, how they are changing, and the impacts of human footprint on these resources. I use hydrological models to understand the availability of and movement of water through the ecosystem, which is the key to their sustainable management.

My doctoral research addressed the sustainability of our energy systems through smart use of water resources. I a three-step process ('AIM') to mainstream sustainable energy generation:

  1. A nalyse the interaction of energy-water resources,
  2. I mprove the efficiency of energy systems making them more resilient, and
  3. M inimize the detrimental impacts of those operations on our environment.

Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) provided close technical support for developing a real-time flash flood forecasting system for the haor region of Bangladesh. The agency has been actively using the system for flood management in the region.
